It can take a long time to download all the photos from the reunion (over 60). If you want to do this check the "All Photos at once" link in the frame to the left. To look at ten (or so) at a time, click on any of the other links. They are in the order that the pictures were taken which was in no particular order at all.

Also see a brief description and some other pictures below.

It all started here:

Near here
and here

And it culminated here:

Although back then it seemed that it might end up here for many of us:

What was it? Well, it was a memorable evening for several old men and many of their very young wives. It was the thirty something reunion of the 3rd. floor Putnam Hall residents of 1961-1963, or there abouts. I'm still not completely sure how it all happened, but it was all the doing of this man:

Bruce Maclin [brucem4626@aol.com -- if he can logon to aol] got this whole thing started. I don't know how he got us all together. For example, a few months back I got a call from my sister. She said that she had been contacted by someone that was calling on behalf of Bruce. The caller had gotten my sister's number from my sister's ex-husband. She said that Bruce was trying to get ahold of me about a dorm reunion and that I should call Bruce at an area code 805 number. Well, this happened to be the week that I heard about the scam that was hitting people's beepers to call an 809 number. If they called the number on their beeper it got them to somewhere in the Bahamas. It was some kind of sex message that cost you $24.95 on your phone bill even if you hung up immediately. Well, I figured since there IS NO SUCH THING as a "dorm reunion", that this must be a new variation on this 809 beeper scheme. But, I checked with AT&T and found that 805 was in Bakersfield, so it probably wouldn't cost $24.95 to call. I did return the call and a few months later enjoyed one of the fine evenings of my life, remembering old times with friends that I had not seen in 33 years or more.

Bruce got a lot of recognition Saturday night and seemed very touched by it. I don't think that he can get too much recognition. A lot of work went into the evening and the results were spectacular. The standard for a great party (for members of a then all male dorm anyway) is wine, women and song. Although we had to bring our own women (woman actually -- only one per customer allowed), Bruce made sure that we had wine and song. And since this was about remembering 30+ years ago when virtually none of drank wine Bruce provided us with:

We were just settling in with discussions and liquid refreshment when the song part of the evening came:

This was great. The Straw Hat Band was a big part of our lives back then. But just to make me feel even older, I noticed that one of the members of the band, Justin King, is the younger brother of one of my son's classmates from his third grade days.

And then a very fine meal was had by all:
